Granny style..

For anyone who knows me or follows me, you will know I love this style of skirt, usually not just as long as this one, but similar- I've worn so many over the past while; out to dinner, cocktails and even on nights out - I love them! I think they are so flattering and girly.
This one is no exception; the colour and the way the pleats fall into it are amazing, but what makes this even more amazing is that it is my Granny's skirt- she wore it to my mother's wedding 25 years ago! I couldn't believe it when she took it from her wardrobe last week and gave it to me, she said that would just suit our Emma the best! And you know what, Granny, it does, vintage styling at it's best! And even sweeter than it being my granny's, or her passing it down to me- she was such a fashionista!!
My lovely friend recently bought me this necklace and the colours in it seem to match everything I want it to at the moment, it's great, it's such a statement piece, and that's what I love about it- everyone seems to know me so well!
I decided that they matched perfectly, so put them together along with the plain tee and plain heels, the whole outfit works so well for me as it's so girly and classic! I will definitely be wearing this out to dinner some night, just making sure not to spill any of my carbonara on it! Hopefully in 25 years time I can pass this one on too! Belfast Fashion Week SS/15..

I cannot believe it's spring again, how quickly has time went? But boy, am I happy, I love this time of year and all of the clothes and colours it brings with it!
So, on Friday night my friend and I went to the designer collection of Belfast Fashion Week (thanks to West Coast Cooler for my tickets!) to see all the latest trends and upcoming designers. I've been looking forward to this since last years, it's such a fantastic evening. Just like last year, the venue was super chic, with lots of pop up stalls, food and drink and even somewhere to get a massage or a manicure if you could get squeezed in! When you walk in, you're greeted by a lovely photographer who takes your picture, and makes you feel so welcomed - so we got our photos taken, both together and separately, and I got interviewed about my outfit and my style for the Belfast Telegraph!

After a manicure, a drink and a look at some of the stalls we were seated and ready to go, with lovely goody bags sitting waiting for us!

The collection of clothes were fabulous, from well known designers to up and coming ones- but over all my favourite look of the evening was from Mimis Road Trip- the skirt and jumper combo with the colours for me was just perfect, I loved it so much! Somewhere I had never heard of before, so I will definitely be purchasing a few things from there- thanks for introducing me to them!

That's what I love about this, some shops or designers you have never heard of start to become your new favourites!

The whole evening was great, I love the build up to it and the buzz around the place. As most of you already know, it ended on such a high note, as I received Best Dressed on the night, and won myself a little prize- Champagne afternoon tea and spa access at the Galgorm Spa & Resort- oh la la!
I was so pleased with this, as I loved my outfit, I had it for ages before and couldn't wait to get wearing it. But a couple of days before I tried it on and didn't like it at all, I think I had looked at it too many times. But when I had my tan, make up and hair done I loved it all together again!

I had got the skirt first in River Island, of course, and completely fell in love with it - I knew straight away it was for Fashion Week! Then worked around it trying to get an outfit together. I knew I had these shoes in the house which I've never actually worn before, and I love the two colours together, so went along with that. Then popped into a little shop called Marmalade in Ballymena and seen this jacket and thought it would be so perfect with it, just to pull the blue colours together- and it did so well, very 'Sex and the City' if I do say so myself! So all in all, another successful season at BFW, lots of lovely clothes and colours seen- don't know if my bank balance agrees though!!

White Waterfall..

Anyone who knows me personally will know I've not been up for doing much blogging recently, but I had seen this coat online and thought I would treat myself, and get back into the swing of things - doing what I love!
White is such a difficult colour to maintain, especially when wearing fake tan and makeup, but I thought this one was just too beautiful and at such a fantastic price, I couldn't pass it; it's perfect for this time of the year as well, as its a very light material, perfect for the changing weather.
The waterfall effect at the front of the coat adds so much dimension to it, makes it look and feel like you've a lot more layers on you than you actually do (yet the light material ensures it doesn't drown you)- and the tie around the waist is so flattering.
I wore this out for dinner, just over a plain top, with skinnies and heels, but it's so lovely and elegant over a dress if you're going to a more formal occasion such as a wedding or, like I did, at the weekend - just add another pair of jeans, a scarf and boots for shopping! White is one of my favourite colours at this time of year, it brightens up my wardrobe and the dark winter colours it contained, so this will definitely be making a few appearances.
