REVIEW..

Review: Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation

After seeing loadssss of beauty bloggers and vloggers rave about this foundation as a dupe, I wanted to try it, but me being typical me every time I went shopping I always forgot to pick it up!
So I finally got my hands on it and tried it out on the beautiful Claire who came in for make-up today!

I am a sucker for a full coverage foundation, to me I think nothing can beat it! And my ultimate go to foundation is usually the Illamasqua Skin Base- priced at £32. I really do feel it's worth the money and it isn't heavy at all on the skin. However, if I can find a cheaper product that does the same, then I'll give it a go. I LOVE it, the bloggers weren't lying it really is the ultimate dupe for a full coverage foundation and perfect for everyday wear too as it's super duper light! At £9.99 and some stores doing offers on, like 3 for 2 etc, it's a great time and price to even give it a try!

90's Kid..

True to my word I am sticking to my resolutions, first of all I have lost 3lb by sticking to my diet and exercising... Who knew it would be that simple eh? So pleased with myself if I do say!

Second of all, I've started blogging again, I saw this top on This Morning last week and had to get it, i loved the style of it so much, it's just that little bit different to a regular tight fitting turtle neck!

I feel like I'm being brought back in time, I swear I had an outfit like this when I was about 6?! Between pinafores and dunagress its all being brought back, I love it! Denim is hugeeee at the moment as well- light, dark, shirts, skirts, culottes, basically everything and anything in stores is denim again, it's great - it goes with everything when you think about it though doesn't it? This pinafore is so flattering when it's on, it cinches you in at the waist and accentuates your shape in all the right places. I love the length of this one, most of them are usually shorter than this and are an a-line shape. I love that this gives you a shape and the length of it makes it that bit 'cuter', I feel.

Monochrome is back in my wardrobe again (but when did it ever leave really?) when I say I love it, I actually love it so much! It is so timeless and effortless, it just works! The cropped sleeve and fit of this top works so well with the pinafore and cute girly style, that's why I paired with flat lace ups. I also think it would work really well with a pair of chunky heeled ankle boots, long sleeved turtle neck body and hair up in a messy bun for that edgier style, or style with converse and cute polo tee buttoned right up for a casual chic look! Whatever your style, I feel you could work this pinafore, and at £27.99 it's a complete style steal!

REVIEW: Lime Crime Unicorn Lipsticks

I've been wanting to get my hands on these lipsticks for ages, but to be honest I just never got around to it - I always thought it would take ages to navigate through the website and pay for it, due to it being an American website, but it was actually really quick and simple! (Me just being lazy as usual)
I just ordered a few to see what they were like for myself, before I decided to purchase anymore, and as usual I'm cross with myself as I should have ordered more at the time because it took them two weeks to arrive! I wanted lipsticks in the shades I wear the most, so I went for a red (retrofuturist), pink (centrifuchsia) and of course a nude (eraser) - and then an orange/brown colour in a matte liquid lipstick (pumpkin). There really is sooooo many different formulas to choose from, and every colour you can think of! The colour of the pictures and the colour in real life are identical, there's nothing more annoying than a product arriving and it looking totally different to what you wanted or thought. So props to Lime Crime for that one!
Everyone wears lipstick differently and everyone has different lips, but for me they are really moisturising when you first apply them, and they are so highly pigmented- especially the Velventines liquid lipstick. Most of all, the staying power is incredible; the only lipstick/gloss that has ever stayed put for me is any of the NYX range (which is now available in Boots, yay!) that is, until now, woohoo! Talking, eating, drinking and more talking, and they still stay put! I have a bad habit of licking my lips in when I talk, and this usually results in the lipstick fading, so I'm really pleased with how long this formula actually stays on. Finally is anyone else obsessed with the packaging? Ok, well I am and wow, how cute is it all?  As if the purple and sliver glitter unicorns weren't enough, look at what it comes in; the floral box and pink tissue paper makes the unicorn packages look even cuter when they arrive at your door, rather than in a boring bubble envelope!
I would 100% recommend these to anyone; the intense colour pay-off, the lasting power, the moisturising formula - all make it hard to resist! It is safe to say I've already ordered more, and the eyeshadow pallet too - hopefully I'm just as impressed with that Thanks for reading, love Emma Jane xx

New Year's Resolutions

To be honest, I never really make New Year’s Resolutions, and it's because like most people- after the third week in January life gets back into the normal swing of things again, and we all forget about them or 'don't have time' to stick to them. This year I have actually made a few of them, and I plan on sticking to them!🏻 First and foremost.. To blog more! I really do love blogging, but I always let it take a backseat to everything else, I always seem to have something else which I need to do. During the months of March to September I work pretty much every day, and 10-12 hours a day at that! Don't get me wrong - I love my job, but I rarely have time to blog, and then in the Winter I work less of course, but the weather is here is awful, and to be honest, I amm just tired 24/7 haha -so I am definitely making it my number one goal to blog more; even if the weather is bad I won't use that as an excuse!
Number 2; eating healthier and going to the gym. Ok ok, typical girl post about a resolution haha but this time I'm really going to get into it, I started this about March time last year until around June and I was doing so well, but summer work hours made it harder.. I'll just have to get up earlier this year haha I'm going to try and eat clean and go to the gym, but I'm not going to make it that hard that I'll break it.. I'll do this Monday to Friday, and then the weekend is all mine to eat and do whatever I want!
Number 3: To start and set up a name for myself in make up; I've done a good few make-up courses and usually do my family and friends make-up for occasions like nights out, so I want to make this a more regular thing. Make up over the past two years has literally exploded, everyone is into it! So much more make -up out there to pick and choose from, it's great🙈 the professional make-up artists that I follow and get tips from are amazing; literally amazing and I am nowhere near their level, but hopefully someday I can be, practice makes perfect - so hopefully this one will work out for me too!
Number 4: not let work take over my life! Obviously I'm still going to work as hard and put as much into the shop as I usually do, but countless many times I've had to say to my family and friends 'no sorry I can't, I've the shop to close/open' 'I can't leave the shop that long' I'm only 23 and I need to live a little! The saying 'don't be too busy making a life you forget to live' couldn't be more true!
Finally: save more money! Starting to get to the stage where I have most of the things I want, bar a house and family of course! I got a beautiful car this year so that's one thing of my list, but I really need to start saving, for other things rather than a new handbag every six months haha.
I wonder how long these New Year’s Resolutions will last? I'm guessing more than June this year? Hoping the year doesn't go as quickly as last year, thanks for reading guys and I'm sticking to my number one. Shouldn't be too long to another one it up! Love Emma Jane xx
