Morning lovelies, or afternoon or evening depending when you're actually reading this.. For me it is Thursday morning so lets go with morning!

To most people who only know me through Instagram and see me putting pictures up of when I'm on holidays in a bikini or swimsuit by the pool, probably think that I think I look great- and for a while there I did. I felt so confident in myself, I had finally put the weight back on that I had lost a year ago and I was in such a good place.

However before the weddings I had put on way too much weight for myself personally to feel good, I was the heaviest I had ever been at that time.
I am 5'8 so I do carry weight quite well and can 'get away' with having around half a stone on before I start to notice it loads, my happy weight is around 10stone 8pounds to 11stone 2pounds. At that time I weighed 12stone and 3pounds.
I had never seen that 12stone mark before and I felt sick, to some people I get this isn't a big deal at all, which is totally fine- everyone to their own. But I just didn't feel like myself at all, no matter what I tried I could not shift it- slimming world, no carbs, no dairy, no sugar, everything I tried it didn't seem to work the way I wanted it too. I eventually (just in the nick of time to fit into the dresses) got to down to 11stone 8pounds and felt good again. Thennnnn after the weddings were over I had so much on with work and make ups and birthdays that I completely fell off the wagon again and gained A STONE in a month!!
I was officially the heaviest I had ever been in my life, at 12stone and 6pounds. I honestly felt crap when I came home from holidays, and yes I totally understand that some of it was bloating from drinking and eating bad and flying but I stood on the scales and my heart sunk.

So the 10 Day Weight Loss Kickstart honestly could not have came around at a better time for me.
The morning I was supposed to start the programme, I woke up with the worst tummy cramps and all I wanted was to get a cup of tea and a packet of biscuits and go back to bed. That would have been wayyy easier that morning but nope I got up and started prepping, and that is what I have found to be key this past ten days in helping me loose the weight- prepping.

For someone who is usually ALWAYS hungry, I really thought I would struggle from this and when I seen the plan I though how am I going to loose weight by eating so much food? The difference being it was good food I was eating.
I would have got home from a ten hour shift and ate a chinese or chippy, and sat up all night because I was buzzing from the fast food. I wold have went out for a big breakfast before work to keep me going all day, or got a salad from across the road but I was layering it in taco sauce. It wasn't that I couldn't have a break to eat a healthy planned meal it was me being lazy about it all and taking the easy way out.

Prepping really is key, it helps so much. Not that the meals in the programme are hard to make or take a lot of prepping it is just for me, I need something super quick and be able to have it there and then almost. The breakfasts either take me 2 minutes or else 10-both of which I am able to do in the morning- I'm not that lazy!
For my lunches I always take something with me, and again it takes five minutes max to prep a tuna salad.
Dinners are where I really thought I would struggle, but nope I really enjoyed it. Again the most it every took to make a dinner was 45 mins, and thats at leisure leaving your potatoes to boil. My parents eat really healthy dinners every night, usually potatoes, veg and a meat. So when I have steak or else pork loin and potatoes if they are having something similar- all they have to do different if cook my meat if they aren't having the same.
The programme is designed to work around normal life and it does exactly that, it is just making small steps and small changes to your everyday food to live a bit healthier.

One thing that really worked for me and mainly because my working hours are so random every day, was that your allowed to mix and match the meals up. Some days I took my dinner for my lunch and my snack for my breakfast then my lunch for later on in the evening when I wanted something light. As long as I was eating the right amount of calories in that day- which helped me so much!

Yesterday was the final day, and I finished off with my favourite meal of them all. Chinese Stir-fry, literally a fake away!! It tasted so good, I was so pleased with myself haha. Its soft noddles, pork pieces cut up, onions, peppers, and chinese 5 spice- BOOM. Honestly it's amazing, I loved it!

I weighted and measured myself before and after, and took pictures! I really debated showing these or not cause I hate the before ones myself but I want to show you it really does work!! Ps I am not sticking my tummy out, and I didn't add tan to make myself look smaller either! The lighting might be bit off because of the fact it looks like winter outside however!

I have lost a total of 8 pounds and 5 inches in the ten days- real results!!

When you buy the programme, you get sent it to download onto your computer, iPad, phone or whatever device you have.
You get the guide and information on the programme, 10 breakfast recipes, 10 lunch recipes, 10 dinner recipes and 10 snack recipes to suit each different programme you are doing (calorie wise), a workout routine, Tara on the phone 24/7 and being added to a closed Facebook group to help on recipes and encouragement along the way. Click here to buy the programme.. it's only £14!

There is also a 30 day follow up programme available to buy which helps you maintain the weight loss and carry it on into every day life, this is the difference- it isn't just a quick fix. It helps you maintain a healthy lifestyle, realising what you can eat.

Ryan booked us a little last minute get away for the end of august after the madness of the summer is over for myself in work, so I will 100% be carrying this on so I can feel amazing in myself when we go away. I have a goal in mind, I want another 10lb off so heres hoping I get down to that 11stone mark. I'll be updating you on my 30 day follow up and if I notice a difference or not with that one compared to the 10 days.

So many of you guys have told me you are doing the programme so can't wait to see your results, keep going!

The new Mr and Mrs O'Connor..

Happy Friday y'alllll.
Feels like every single time I come on here to do a post all I say is how long it has been since my last one, honestly I am a disaster at the minute- I never have a spare minute thats mainly why. Anyway, this time three weeks ago (wow!) we were all preparing for my beautiful big sister and soon to be brother in laws wedding day. We were tanned, groomed, plucked, waxed and hair scrubbed to an inch of our lives, sure just the usual week for me anyway heh? haha.

After a family Chinese and a few cocktails we were all ready to go, we all stayed in our home house the night before the wedding, so we were all waiting patiently for Ciara to give us all our matching PJs so we could get changed into them- I mean we all knew we were going to get them haha. Our amazing daddy turned his back room (his man cave) into the wedding room before the big day, so we weren't getting ready in the kitchen or someones bedroom. It was amazing, painted all white with loads of mirrors and a station for both hair and make up, it was the icing on the cake for the big day! But we didn't expect what she had for us set up in the room, it was on lock down the whole day until we were allowed in, honestly our house is like 5 big kids half the time!

When we went in, I honestly expected a pair of PJS and a dressing gown, but nope. Look at what the wee skitter had for us all, everything was so personalised and so well thought of right down to the bags.
We all got matching PJS, slippers and the most beautiful Cath Kidston dressing gowns. We all got a bottle of our favourite perfumes, with the strongest deoderant with it too (I mean it was 20 degrees and our dresses were skin tight haha) our earrings and bracelet, a little bridesmaid clutch bag to keep our bits and bobs in after we set our flowers down, the cutest pocket mirror, and our lip sticks so we all had one the day of the wedding (we chose Liner in shade Whirl, Lipstick in Honey Love and then a little Clarins gloss over the top.) and then finished off with our own personalised cards that of course we all sat and cried for about an hour over, if I think of it enough I would cry now so lets change subject!

Our make up artists was one of my favourites, the insanely talented Haley Mclean. The loveliest most down to earth girl who does exactly what you ask of her. Nothing is too much trouble and she knows each client spot on and what suits them exactly.
Of course our hairdresser was the famous Benny from Benny @ Mcgills in Ballycastle, we wouldn't have dreamt about going anywhere else. He always delivers exactly what you want and more, Ciara's hair looked fab and he didn't leave until he was 100% with us all and how it looked, fixing us as we were putting our dresses on! Service level 100000 haha. The craic with these pair on the morning was fab and Ciara was so happy she picked them to be part of hers and Rory's big day!

I have had SO many questions about where the reception was held, it is 100% a little hidden gem. For those who maybe don't know its called Kilmore Country House Hotel, Glenariffe. Every single thing was perfect, the staff were amazing and it was planned to perfection from them. Not to mention the STUNNING views, and what a day we got for it! Click here to visit their Facebook page and message them to get any more details you need!

I can't believe it is all over and done with, them pair are already home from Santorini and all the planning prepping and hen parties are all over and done with... well until this time next week when we do it all over again for our bestie Margie!
Their wedding is in Drenagh House, Limavady so it will be just as stunning, the grounds in that place are amazing!

What am I going to do when its all over and I have no more weddings or hen parties to help with? Sure like Rory said in his speech, we can become party planners if it doesn't work out.. Anyone need a party planner?! Nope? Ok all good.. Holiday timeeeee haha!

Here is a few more photos from the day, I couldn't pick between them all! Cant wait to see the real ones soon- Angel Photography.

Dancing photos are ALWAYS the best!!

Well almost as much as candids!

How lucky was Ciara to have Fin and Margie as her Bridesmaids? BABES!

Ps how AMZING is my momma? OBSESSED with her!!
Fascinator was made for her by the talented Sara from Red Thread as always! x

Tuesday, 15 May 2018

Hey everyone, hope your Tuesday was as good as mine! I was back to work today, but nevertheless I had such a productive day getting caught up with everything from the weekend and trying to make a start on everything for the next few weeks with the wedding being so SOON! Cannot cope that this time 11 days my sister will be marriedddd!

Anyway, enough of me blabbering on about weddings as usual! At the weekend Ryan and I took ourselves off on a little road trip, so adventurous getting aren't we haha we packed a bag and hit the road first thing (well 11am but I mean that is first thing for me!).
I knew we were going to end up in Dublin/Kildare direction anyway, as I wanted to get to Kildare Village before the private sale ended that evening, so that's exactly where we ended up!

A load of you guys have asked me about the hotel we stayed in at the weekend so thought I would pop a little info up about it for you and how I found out about it and the deal we got.
So because we had nowhere planned to stay I simply went onto and typed in Kildare, as I normally would when I'm staying somewhere. It has always just been so handy and because I use it so much I now get the genius prices too which usually work out even cheaper- hoorayyy!
I found the Killashee Hotel on there and fell in love with it, it was like a mini castle. So so pretty in every way... except for the price - it was over £100 for just the room on its own, with no breakfast, in a standard size room - for a Sunday night might I add. So I popped on over to the Killashee Hotel website and had a look at their offers, sometimes it is cheaper than and then sometimes it works out dearer too!

We ended up getting a superior room, with a three course dinner that evening in their lovely bistro and then breakfast the following morning too... all for €150 which worked out at £130ish with the exchange rate! How amazing is that? I couldn't believe it, so needless to say I booked straight away haha

When we arrived after shopping our little socks off at 7.30pm the staff were beyond lovely, they upgraded us to the junior suite for free as it wasn't in use that evening! I LOVE when hotels do that! If you don't ask, you don't get!
It was such an old fashioned hotel with the decor of the rooms, but at the same time was modern with the bistro and the lobby of the hotel!

The three course dinner that was included in our stay was a separate menu and usually when it is included in your stay the menu doesn't have that great of a choice or else is really plain, I am such a fussy eater so it is maybe just me! But the menu was fab, I had goats cheese cheesecake to start and ohhhh my god it was delicious! Just the perfect amount, sometimes they give you too much and you get sick of it, and sometimes it isn't enough to fill you haha. Here's me with the plain eating again - I got the burger for main, but it was so good! I know some will say how can you go wrong with a burger, butttt let me tell you you can! It was proper meat, none of that processed stuff, and the best bit IT HAD PICKLE IN IT. Obsessed with pickle in burgers sorry haha then creme brûlée to finish off, oh and maybe a few cocktails and gin mixed in with that too!

It was that cosy and homely, we were tucked up in bed with a drink watching MOTD by 11pm and I wouldn't have had it any other way - remember I said I we were getting so adventurous? Good one Emma haha #oldies
Honestly would stay here again, the staff, the food and the location were amazing.
They have spa and wellness centre too, we didn't have time to visit that which I really wish we did but hey, just an excuse for another visit right?

Evening girlies! Hope everyone has had a fabulous week so far, I certainly have anyway despite it STILL being freeeezing!
Last week I was sent some lovely Note products by the even lovelier Olivia at The Publicity loft. I had only ever seen this product on Instagram a couple of times but I had heard a good few people raving about them, it was one of those things where you get distracted by something or someone else and kind of forget about it, then it pops up again and your like 'oh yea that I meant to get some of that!' Butttt never the less I finally got my hands on it and was jumping at the chance to try it out, especially because I wasn't expecting the parcel to arrive in the first place!

Before I get into it I really want to state, like I do in every review I post, this isn't paid, it isn't sponsored and I wasn't give these products to tell you to buy them. This is 100% my honest opinion and if I personally didn't like something then I certainly wouldn't be telling you guys to go and spend your hard earned money on it!

Ok now all that is out of the way, here we go.
In my beaut wee parcel I was sent the mattifying extreme wear foundation, full coverage liquid concealer, ultra rich colour lip pencil and a mattmoist lipgloss.

Obviously I was most looking forward to trying the foundation. As a make up artist I LOVE trying out new foundations, seeing how they last, how they go on, how well they blend, how they smell (this is a big one for me- the main reason I don't use MAC foundations!) all the usual stuff we all do with a new foundation.
First of all the packaging- simple, sleek and you can see how much you have used. Some foundations are covered up and you never know when you are running low and that bugs me so much! AND there is a pump!
Ok this might be a weird one to some people but the smell of foundations is SO important to me! I use it every single day, some just once yes, but sometimes up to ten times a day so I want them to smell nice, isn't that much of a request is it?! This smells like a cleanser or else baby wipes- it is so fresh and then in my head it automatically makes it lighter haha. MAC Studio Fix smells like paint to me, so I HATE putting it on my face for that one reason, all I can think of is how heavy feels to me!
It blends so so easy and has really good coverage for one layer. I always double up on my layers however if I don't think the coverage is enough for me personally from just one layer.
Staying power- 9/10. I might have (most deffo did) fell asleep with this on me one evening and it was STILL on me the next morning, disgusting I KNOW! I genuinely didn't do this on purpose as falling asleep with make up on is my pet hate but I mean if that isn't a test of staying power I don't know what is! The only thing I would say is around my nose and chin it started to go a little dry and flakey, my skin has been super dry the past while however so that might be as to why. Other than that, I really would't have any faults with this foundation at all. It really does give that 'instagram flawless face'!
Shop here £10.95

Concealer- again I really like the packaging, just simple and you know what it is. The applicator is like most concealers these days and is the one I personally find the easiest to use as it goes onto the skin really smoothly. It is nice and light, and has good enough coverage but you need to work super fast. I would only apply it to the area I am going to work on straight away, I wouldn't apply it everywhere and then work my way around my face. I use it under my eyes and again like my foundation I like it to be super full coverage so I just apply a double layer and it works. And no it doesn't look caked on me either, it is so light so it never feels or looks like that on me or clients!
Shop here £3.95

Lip liner- OK LIFE CHANGING-THE END. Basically that is all haha. It doesn't budge, like does not move! I was sent shade rose 02 and I mean it is so perfect for me anyway because I love nudes/browns. I wore it all day to work and out for dinner a couple of times and it doesn't come off hardly at all. Okay, a tiny teeny bit in the middle of the lips but apart from that none at all and the colour doesn't fade either, super pigmented. Hands down my favourite lip liner (except rimmel cappuccino because I can't live without it ok) to date!
Shop here £3.95

Lip gloss- packaging of this reminds me of the sleek lip glosses every time I see it, but I still like them all the same, wouldn't put me off buying them. You can see what the colour is without having to look at the bottom of the packaging which I like, saves me 0.0002 seconds haha.
I was sent the shade 407-NOTISMI which is this deep rich reddy/pink colour which is absolutely beautiful, but just the complete opposite of me. I would never in my life wear a red lipstick or gloss, I just always get so scared and feel I don't suit a red lip so I never ever try it on myself. So this can't be reviewed fully by me because well, I basically haven't tried it for myself. Howeverrrr my sister Ciara wore it out for her home hen party last Saturday night and she loved it, it comes out super glossy but wears as a matt, it isn't super matt however so it really doesn't dry out your lips like most do and again it smells great- even I could tell this. The pigmentation is great, you need the TINIEST bit and it covers so much but it really does smudge so you need to be very careful when wearing this, drink with a straw and absolutely no kissing haha
Shop here £5.95

I've linked everything I was sent under each review but you can see what other products they have on their website here. Such a brilliant brand for unreal prices, treat yourself!!
Anyway that wasn't meant to be this long, Im off to Galgorm Spa tomorrow for a little treat so follow my snaps because as always i'll be snapping away like a goodn' well that is if my fingers don't fall off with the cold, wish me luck!! (emmajanemooney)

Thanks for reading as always, have a good weekend

Blogger Brunch..

Happy humpday you lovely lot..
It was super sunny here in Ballycastle today, I have a cup of tea in my hand, I am just about to head home and life is pretty good! I am actually surprisingly happy this Wednesday even though it is half way through my first week back to work, did I happen to mention that anywhere at all? Just incase you didn't know I am back to work full time now haha.

On Sunday I'm sure you are all aware by everyones Snapchat and Instagrams that some of us 'Bloggers' from around Northern Ireland came together for a little brunch we like to call the NI Blogger Brunch in the beautiful Babel which is located on the rooftop of the Bullit hotel, hosted by Cathy and her wonderful team!

Usually at the brunches it gives everyone an opportunity to speak about their blog, why they started it, what they hate/love about this 'industry' or just ramble on about something in general (we all like to do that!)
This time we had the lovely benefit girls up from Dublin and some of their benny babes from Belfast giving brow make overs at our tables, hints and tips and even giving us a few little sneaky samples to take home! They talked us through some tips on how to get the perfect flat lay or maybe not even a flat lay but just how to make your pictures pop in general to suit your personal style/insta.
They talked us through the new product just launched by Benefit- the BAGgal BANG mascara.
Why do Benefit need a new mascara you say? Well that's what we were ALL thinking too until Katie (the brow queeeeen) told us the method behind the madness!

One mascara lengthens and one adds volume, so technically they needed one that does both, right? It even contains aero-particles which is one of the lightest known materials known to man (and used in space!) making sure it doesn't weigh down your lashes making them clumpy.. andddd making it out of this world!

I didn't get up and speak this time as I felt I had said everything I had to say the last time but now looking back I wish I had of spoke as when Im looking at everyone Instagram it seems I don't actually know everyone that was in the room, which means they don't know me either! Next time I will however speak and let everyone know who I am and what Emma Jane is about.
One thing I love about this little meet up is that nobody judges you for taking 100 photos of your orange juice on the table, or you can stand in the middle of the room and pose for 10 different photos and nobody batters an eyelid because it is deemed the norm haha and that everyone is just generally lovely and supportive of each other, you leave in such a good mood and feeling so much girl power!

I am obsessed with jumpers and skirts at the minute, its too told to get the legs AND arms out so just the legs at the minute is the perfect transition into spring!
This jumper was from H&M and when I saw it on the rail I wasn't sure if I loved it or thought it was basic enough, but I tried it on and I loved the style once on, it was SO comfy and I thought it was super flattering for a jumper!
Up close there is so many different colours in it so I know I will get so many uses out of this by teaming it with so many different colours and textures and even better it was only £19.99!

When I got home that evening from town I didn't think I had anything to wear on Sunday as the jumper was the only thing I picked up, but I remembered I hadn't worn the skirt or boots I got a couple of weeks ago from River Island. So decided to throw them all on together and ta day heres me just thinking I'm Kim K posing for Yeezy.. beige on beige on beige on beige haha i wish!!

I've linked everything below for you guys if you want to shop it!

Hey my loves, happy Monday!

Well it is for me anyway, I am currently in my favouriteeeee hairdressers (McGills of course) getting a cheeky blow dry before I head to Cambridge for a few days and I couldn't be more excited!

During the week as you know we saw of all the looks you will see this Spring Summer, with the West Coast Cooler Fashion Week launch. This year it was held at Ormeau baths and it was such a lovely location, I always love somewhere different and new anyway but I personally loved the minimalistic look of the place, and the dozens of plants around the place that happened to matched my outfit perfectly for photos obviously?

We saw LOADS of looks that are already in the shops at the minute and loads that will be coming into them soon, so watch out and get ahead of the game! Green, Pink and Stripes were just a few of my favourites, here was some of what was showcased.

My look covered a few of the trends at the mo-stripes, pinks and greens! I love this cute little look, jumpers and skirts have been one of my favourite things the last season so I'm glad I can carry it into the next season with mini skirts instead of full ones!

Bag- Mulberry
Shoes (old but similar in link)

Have you got your tickets to the shows in March yet? The designer show FROW is ALREADY sold out so be quick to nab the best view for high street! Heres a link to grab yours before its too late!

Have a lovely week, ill be snapping loads when I'm in Cambridge as always so make sure and follow me to see what antics we get up to and to see the beautiful city of course! (emmajanemooney)
